Freeway Traffic 2007 PSU Student Transportation Survey
An online transportation survey of 641 students revealed the largest number of student trips to PSU were made on public transit (38%). Increases in bicycling and walking were also seen. Students driving alone stated 'saving time' was their number one reason for driving. Students using alternative transportation said 'saving money' was their number one reason for doing so.

Bikeracks at bookstore 2007 PSU Bicycle Survey
The survey provided valuable information about the perceptions and interests of campus bicyclists. The results helped to identify ways that the university can continue to meet the transportation needs of the campus community. [ read more in printer-friendly format ]
portland streetcar 2006 PSU Employee Transportation Survey
Survey responses indicated a continuing trend toward reduction in drive alone trips and increases in transit and bicycling trips. With a 45% trip mode share, transit is the number one employee choice for accessing campus. Drive alone trips were down to 27% from 33% in 2004. Employee trips to campus via bicycle went from 6% in 2004 to 9%, an increase of 50%.  [ read a more in printer-friendly format >> ]
2006 PSU Bicycle Survey
Flyers were placed on all bicycles parked on campus grounds asking
bicyclists to take an online survey. The survey asked bicyclists why
they bicycle to school, how often, what would encourage them to bike
more often and how much they spend on bicycle transportation.

2005 BEST Award for Transportation Alternatives
The BEST Awards are presented annually to companies demonstrating excellence in business practices that promote economic growth and environmental benefits . PSU's Transportation & Parking Services developed programs that have remarkably increased the use of alternative transportation to reach campus. [ read more >> ]
2005 PSU Student Transportation Survey
A survey of 1142 PSU students was conducted by email showing how students traveled to the university and the reasons for their choices. The results indicate that only 29% of trips to PSU are made in single occupancy vehicles, down from 40% just two years earlier.

2004 PSU Employee Transportation Survey
Responses from a sample of 979 faculty and staff revealed preferences and behaviors regarding transportation to and from Portland State University. Results show that 44% of trips to and from PSU were made by transit, up from 36% in 2002.

A telephone survey of 405 PSU students was conducted showing how students traveled to the university. The results indicate that 40% of trips to PSU are made in single occupancy vehicles.
