Planning & Sustainability

Transportation planning and sustainability efforts are undertaken to accommodate a growing student population through:(1) a decrease in the percentage of faculty, staff and students who drive alone to campus, and (2) an increase in the percentage of faculty, staff, and students who rely on alternative transportation modes (transit, bicycling, walking, or carpooling) as their primary means of traveling to and from campus.

Student Commute Report

Every other year, a survey  is conducted to understand how students commute to campus, where they commute from, and the motivating factors underlying mode choice.

Employee Commute Report

Bicycle Transportation Report

Each Spring, PSU conducts a bicycle survey to understand perceptions, experiences, motivations and challenges related to bicycling to PSU.  A bike rack occupancy count is conducted in conjunction with the survey to assess bike parking demand.
